Photosynthesis

Cell Respiration

-takes place in chloroplasts
-chlorophyll in chloroplasts
helps convert light energy
from the sun
-6Co+6H20-->C6H12O6+6CO2
-2 phases, light&dark
-light phase: sunlight hits
the thylakoid membrane of
the chloroplast and the
water molecule H20 is split and oxygen is released into the atmosphere
  -dark phase: calvin     cycle,happens in the stoma    of the chloroplast,          CO2->C6H12O6
        -is limited to only t         times with                   sunlight
-takes place in the mitochondria
 -occurs all the time
-C6H12O6+6O2->6H2O+6CO2+ATP
   -breaks down sugars and      converts them into          chemical energy
      -2 types : anaerobic       and aerobic
     -aerobic uses oxxygen      and produces around 36    ATP's
   -anaerobic: 2 types:lactic acid/alcoholic fermentation
 -produces around 2 ATP's
-enzymes are needed to break down the glucose
-involve the exchange of glucose,  oxygen, water,  and carbon
  -transform    energy
   -movement        of           electrons
